Burt's Bees vs Boudreaux's Butt Paste

23 February 2011

Today's duel is between Burts Bees Diaper cream and Boudreaux's Butt Paste

Boudreaux's Butt Paste, Diaper Rash Ointment, Tube 4 oz (113 g)     Burt's Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment, 3 Ounce
Out of the gate, I chose these two creams because I assumed they were both made from natural ingredients. I was wrong. Boudreaux's contains mineral oil. I used Boudreaux's first and I loved the smell and texture. Plus it cleans off easily. Burt's Bees diaper cream has the advantage of being made from all natural products including lavender. And that's the primary beef I have with this product. I just don't enjoy my baby's tooshie with that strongly aromatic smell. Burt's Bees diaper cream is also thicker in consistency.

In terms of price, there's no clear differential. In terms of availability, Boudreaux's can be found in just about all the baby aisles of the major retailers. Burt's Bees is not as readily available. Of course, both can be ordered off amazon.com

I would use Boudreaux's daily for diaper rash prevention but once there's actually a diaper rash episode,m I find that thicker diaper creams like Burt's Bees are more effective
